Call of Duty: Black Ops II
Call of Duty: Black Ops II is the ninth installment in the Call of Duty series, developed by Treyarch and first released on November 13, 2012; the game was ported and released for PS4 and PS5 by Iron Galaxy Studios on July 9, 2026.
The game's story is told in two parallel timelines: the first part is set in the 1980s, with Alex Mason and Frank Woods (characters from the first Black Ops), and the second part is set in 2025, with David Mason (Alex's son, codenamed Section). Both storylines revolve around the pursuit of Raul Menendez, a Nicaraguan cartel leader who is responsible for both Woods's kidnapping in the 1980s and the start of a second Cold War between the United States and China in 2025.
Black Ops II was the first game in the series to feature a fully non-linear campaign with multiple endings — the player's decisions in special Strike Force missions directly affect the course of the story. This version's Zombies mode also introduced a new eight-player mode called Grief.
